Job summary

Jacobs, a leader in data center engineering, seeks a senior subject matter expert to drive structural engineering across a portfolio of projects. You’ll guide technical direction, mentor staff, and coordinate with clients and teams to deliver high-performance solutions.

The role blends technical authority with leadership, design delivery, and collaboration across stakeholders, with travel and hybrid office work as part of a global, client-focused practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer; eligible for license in additional states.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation and S3D.
• Experience with structural analysis software: RISA, RamSS or STAAD.
• Knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7 and related design codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts across data center projects (new builds and retrofits).
• Provide quality reviews of complex projects and oversee analyses.
• Develop and validate advanced structural models; set modeling standards.
• Mentor structural leads and coordinate with clients and design teams.
• Guide project execution, schedules, and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Communicate status to clients and upper management.
