Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Subject Matter Expert in the Data Center team to lead structural engineering across a portfolio of data center projects, including new builds and retrofits. You will guide technical direction, mentor staff, and act as a primary technical liaison with clients and management.

Expect to influence design strategy and project delivery while maintaining high-performance standards and constructability. Hybrid work policy and opportunities for leadership growth are available.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer; ability to become registered in additional states.
• Knowledge of building codes and design standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, etc.).
• Proficiency with CAD and structural analysis software listed above.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts across a portfolio of data center projects; drive technical direction and ensure performance and constructability.
• Mentor junior and senior staff; communicate with clients and upper management to report project status.
• Develop and validate advanced structural models; establish modeling standards and best practices.
• Oversee calculations for member design and foundations; manage schedules, design documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Guide delivery using Design-Build methodology and strengthen project execution.
