Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior subject matter expert in structural engineering for its Data Center team. You will lead technical direction across data center projects, mentor staff, and coordinate with clients and management while ensuring high-performance design and constructability.

The role is client- and contractor-facing, with travel and a hybrid work model, offering significant opportunity to influence delivery and grow leadership presence within Jacobs.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer with ability to become registered in additional states
• Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, S3D)
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA, RamSS, STAAD)
• Knowledge of Building Codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE 7)
• Proficiency with MS Office and MS Teams
• Ability to travel 10–40% to client sites

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts across data center projects (new builds and retrofits)
• Provide quality reviews of complex projects
• Direct junior and senior staff on best practices
• Mentor structural leads and guide project execution
• Coordinate with clients and upper management on status and risks
• Ensure design solutions are code-compliant, robust and constructible
