Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer within the Advanced Manufacturing team to work on data center projects, from new builds to retrofits, across the United States. You will perform structural analyses, create models, and coordinate designs with Jacobs offices domestically and internationally.

Requirements include a PE license, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency with CAD tools and structural software. Travel of ~10–20% is expected; Master’s degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 8 or more years of professional experience in structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states.
• Knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation and S3D.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD.
• Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry relevant design code and standards.
• Knowledge and application of Building Codes.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite software including MS Teams for remote coordination.
• Ability for travel to various client’s sites (approx. 10% to 20% travel)
• Ideally, Master of Science in Engineering.
• Experience with industrial metals projects including casting and rolling operations or similar heavy industrial projects.
• Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of analysis for data center projects.
• Create computer models for structures.
• Perform calculations for member designs and foundations, material take-offs for estimating, preparation of miscellaneous calculations, assisting with schedules.
• Liaise with other internal professionals and design departments for project delivery.
• Coordinate designs with Jacobs offices both domestic and international.
• Grow technically and professionally and expand leadership within the organization.
