Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the design and construction of dams, levees, and hydraulic structures across North America. The role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration, safety, and constructible solutions with an emphasis on mentoring engineers and delivering high-quality design.

The position is based in Lone Tree, CO, with multi-discipline collaboration and travel to project offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible structural engineering experience, preferably including hydropower, dams, hydraulic structures, heavy civil construction, and design-build project delivery.
• Professional Engineer or equivalent registration is required or obtainable; NCEES record preferred for U.S.-based positions.

Responsibilities

• Leading preliminary engineering designs and EPC/design-build pursuits; acting as lead structural engineer and engineer of record.
• Ensure designs follow standards, technical approaches, and quality management programs.
• Provide SME services on interdisciplinary pursuit teams to develop bid phase designs and mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with Design and Project Management Teams for on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Travel to project sites and offices, generally less than 25 percent.
