Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers seeks a Senior Water Resources Engineer to lead complex hydraulic and drainage designs across North America. You will guide teams, provide technical mentorship, and coordinate with multiple design centers on design-build and CM/GC projects.

The role emphasizes advanced hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, plan production, and acting as Engineer of Record when needed. Travel up to 25% is required; PE license is mandatory.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering, Water Resources (or similar field).
• Active PE license required.
• 7-15 years of design experience in drainage, water resources, hydraulics or hydrology in the U.S.
• Alternative delivery experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience mentoring others in workflows and technical topics.
• Familiar with HEC-HMS, SWMM, TR-55, HEC-RAS, HEC-GEORAS, HY-8, OpenRoads Designer, StormCAD, CivilStorm, PondPack, FlowMaster; plus SRH-2D or FLO-2D.

Responsibilities

• Lead stormwater design for transportation, energy, utilities and ports projects.
• Mentor engineers and designers across design centers.
• Lead hydraulics, drainage, scour, sediment transport, and related design areas.
• Act as Engineer of Record for final design projects.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary design to ensure compatible drainage elements.
• Prepare project communications and lead technical meetings.
• Supervise and mentor mid-level and junior staff.
• Lead a team and promote staff development and training.
• Develop preliminary designs and perform quality control reviews.
