Job summary

KGS Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead complex projects across dams, spillways, and hydro infrastructure. You will design concrete and steel systems, apply seismic principles, and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams.

The role blends technical leadership with project management and client engagement, with growth into leadership and business development responsibilities over time, in a flexible and collaborative, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• PE license required; SE license a plus.
• 8–12+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with concrete and steel infrastructure design.
• Knowledge of seismic design and west coast codes.
• Proficiency with structural design software (RISA, SAP2000).
• Strong project management and leadership experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural analysis and design for concrete and steel infrastructure systems.
• Apply seismic loading and design code knowledge (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
• Perform site inspections and rehabilitation planning.
• Prepare calculations, reports, drawings, and specs.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical growth.
• Support proposals, client presentations, and business development.
• Build relationships with utility and infrastructure clients.
