Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. seeks an experienced structural engineer to join our dams and water resources practice. The role focuses on design, evaluation, and risk assessment for hydroelectric facilities and related structures across North America.

You will lead projects, oversee staff work, and mentor junior engineers while engaging with clients in a hybrid office/field setting. Travel to project sites and remote work are required as part of this dynamic role.

Qualifications

• Licensed or able to obtain PE licensure within one year.
• 7–15+ years’ experience in dams/水 resources structural engineering.
• Experience with major structural analysis software and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Serve as structural lead and/or project manager.
• Oversee and review designs by staff engineers; mentor teams.
• Analyze concrete gravity and other dam structures for stresses and stability.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, and temporary works.
• Develop and evaluate alternatives for new facilities.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, contracts, and specs.
• Inspect dam projects for design conformance and safety.
• Prepare reports, present findings, and participate in meetings.
• Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules.
