Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead hydraulic-structure design within the dams, hydropower, and water resources team. The role involves project management, QA/QC, and mentoring staff, with travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications

Requires bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from ABET-accredited college.
Eight+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
PE license in any state with ability to obtain CA license within 12 months.

Responsibilities

Lead design of hydraulic structures and other structural projects (dams, spillways, canals, pump stations, valve houses).
Manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
Prepare plans, calculations, specifications, and design documents for bidding and construction.
Review and seal final plans and reports.
Perform condition assessments and analyze existing structures.
Conduct field inspections and support construction administration.
Mentor and guide junior team members; ensure QA/QC; manage client relationships.
Attend client meetings; travel as needed.
