Job summary

RTX Corporation in Tucson, AZ seeks a Principal Structural Engineer to lead complex analyses across development and production programs. You will perform detailed structural work, generate validation plans, and coordinate peer reviews, ensuring robust, cost-effective solutions for DoD programs.

The role requires a bachelor’s in STEM, 8+ years experience, and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance. Relocation support is available for this US-based position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience running complex structural analyses using PATRAN/NASTRAN/ANSYS or equivalent.
• Proficiency with dynamic, static, nonlinear and transient analyses.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all program phases.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and ensure hardware meets requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models and loads.
• Work with limited oversight on complex problems within schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews for accuracy and rigor.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Create detailed archival technical reports.
• Travel to test sites to support discussions and testing.
• Lead MA&T department technical processes and tools development.
