Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson, AZ, seeks an early career Structural Engineer to support the Mechanical Analysis and Test Department. You will participate in design trades, qualification testing, and production support across a broad range of projects with a global footprint.

You will join a 200+ engineering team performing classical stress analyses to advanced methods, with opportunities to learn from peers and travel to test sites as needed. This role is onsite in Tucson, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in STEM can substitute for 2 years experience.
• Experience in structural analysis with PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software.
• Working knowledge of mechanical principles to solve classical structural engineering problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware against customer requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate models and generate mechanical loads and environments.
• Collaborate with analysts on moderate complexity problems under schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews for accuracy of work product.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Generate detailed archival technical reports.
• Travel to test sites to support test or design discussions.
