Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Senior Engineer to lead structural analysis activities. You will perform FEA for new product development, support certification, and partner with design, testing, and R&D teams.

The role demands a strong CAE background with Hypermesh/LS-DYNA experience and translating problems into robust models. Onsite with competitive benefits and FAA-focused responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in an engineering field with multiple years of structural/FEA experience.
• 3+ years translating real problems into FEA models and interpreting results.
• 3+ years reducing testing and certification costs via FEA analysis.
• 1+ year experience with CAE software including Hypermesh/LS-DYNA and LS-PREPOST.
• Non-US Person must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform dynamic and static FEA analyses for new product development.
• Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, and structural modeling.
• Develop and test metallic/non-metallic structures and related fabrication processes.
• Provide stress analysis results to design/certification teams as SME.
• Conduct structural static testing to validate FEA models.
• Interpret results and communicate to stakeholders; act as SME.
• Support technology transfer with R&D and Product Engineering.
• Recommend weight reduction based on FEA results; limit testing when possible.
• Accumulate evidence for FAA use of FEA in certification.
