Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Principal Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership across design, build and delivery of aerospace components. You will apply static and fatigue analysis, guide repairs for metallic and composite structures, and collaborate with MRB and FAA processes on approvals.

You will drive improvements in engineering efficiency, producibility, and cost reduction while partnering with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams on complex programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Strong static and fatigue analysis background.
• Experience with metallic and composite structures.
• Proficient in Patran or similar FEA tools.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex structural analyses for aerospace components.
• Define and document repair designs for metallic and composite structures.
• Coordinate with MRB to develop standard repair instructions.
• Prepare engineering reports for repairs and FAA approval.
• Provide technical leadership on stress analysis projects.
• Lead continuous improvement in engineering workflows and producibility.
• Collaborate across Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
