Job summary
RTX is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to provide technical support for design, build, and delivery of complex aircraft components. You will perform static and fatigue analyses, develop repair designs, and drive continuous improvement across Engineering Production Support processes.
This role offers exposure to multiple aircraft programs with strong emphasis on cost reduction and producibility. The position requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience (or an advanced degree with 3+
Qualifications
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics with 5+ years experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
- Experience with static stress, fatigue analysis, and finite element methods.
- Proficient with Patran or comparable FEA tools.
- Experience with load paths, free body diagrams, load balance and structural sizing.
- Ability to independently develop analysis approaches and solve problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication across engineering and customer teams.
- Proficient MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
Responsibilities
- Perform complex structural analyses for aerospace components using hand and computer methods.
- Define repair designs for metallic and advanced composite structures.
- Develop and document repair instructions with MRB.
- Prepare engineering reports for repairs and FAA approvals.
- Collaborate with Ops, Quality, Manufacturing and Eng teams to reduce costs and improve processes.
- Improve engineering workflows and tools for efficiency.
- Review and provide feedback on technical documentation.
- Communicate findings and risks to leadership and customers.
