Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks an experienced Structural Analyst to perform static and fatigue analyses on aerospace components in Foley, AL. You will define repair designs for metallic and composite structures and prepare formal reports for internal and external customers.

You will collaborate with MRB and cross-functional teams to identify cost reduction opportunities and improve engineering workflows using Python or automation tools.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science/Engineering or Math with at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience performing static stress and fatigue analysis using classical methods and FEA
  • Experience with load paths, free body diagrams, load balance, and common failure modes
  • Experience with Patran or comparable FEA tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analyses using hand and computer calculations for static and fatigue analysis
  • Define, assess, and document repair designs for metallic, bonded metallic, and advanced composite aerospace structures
  • Collaborate with MRB to develop standard repair instructions
  • Analyze repair proposals and prepare engineering reports for internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to identify cost reductions
  • Support corrective action and defect reduction initiatives
  • Develop processes, methods, and tools to improve Engineering Production Support workflows
  • Communicate technical findings clearly to leadership, customers, and stakeholders
