Job summary

RTX in Marlborough, MA, is seeking an early career Mechanical Engineer – Structural Analysis to join the MA&T department onsite. You will work on products throughout their lifecycle, from design trade studies to qualification testing and production support, alongside 200+ engineers worldwide.

Responsibilities include performing detailed analyses, generating test plans, analyzing data, and presenting results to stakeholders. Requires STEM degree and exposure to major FEA tools; U.S.

Qualifications

• STEM degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 0 years’ experience.
• Experience in structural analysis with PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software.
• Working knowledge of mechanical principles to solve classical structural problems inside and outside software tools.
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required; clearance active and transferable.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to customer requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments.
• Work with limited oversight on complex problems to provide answers under cost and schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews; review others' work products for technical accuracy.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports.
• Travel to test sites to support test or design discussions.
