RTX's Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department in Marlborough, MA seeks a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to perform detailed structural analyses across program lifecycles, from development to production, using finite element software and hand calculations as needed.

You will define scope, lead peer reviews, and present results to internal and external customers in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience in structural analysis using PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software.
• Working knowledge of mechanical principles to solve classical structural problems.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and independently.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all program phases.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to customer requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, or generate mechanical loads and environments.
• Lead technical peer reviews and present results to stakeholders.
• Travel to test sites to support test or design discussions; act as technical leader and help develop MA&T processes.
