Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead the full hardware lifecycle for the New Glenn second stage and payload accommodations. You will design, analyze, test, and qualify structures, creating 3D models, drawings, and interface documents while guiding cross-functional teams to ensure safety and performance.

You will mentor engineers, perform hand calculations and FEM analyses, and drive cost-saving improvements in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering with 8+ years of experience in aircraft/spacecraft structures.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. (permanent residents or asylum/refugee status acceptable).
• Experience on launch vehicles or aircraft structures and structural analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the full hardware lifecycle from requirements to integration on the launch vehicle.
• Design, analyze, and test primary and secondary metallic and composite structures.
• Create 3D models, drawings, and interface control documents.
• Lead test planning, data reduction, and report generation.
• Mentor other engineers and drive continuous improvements.
