Job summary

Thompson Engineering seeks a Senior Structural Engineer with specialized bridge design experience to join our Structural Engineering Team in the Southeast. The ideal candidate holds a PE license and is proficient with AASHTO guidance and LEAP/OpenBridge for analysis.

Responsibilities include analysis, modeling, design, reporting, and collaboration on highway bridges and other structures; travel may be needed; ABET-accredited degree and 10+ years of bridge design experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years of bridge design experience.
• Must have a current Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficient in Structural FEA Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, modeling, and design for a variety of public and private sector projects.
• Focus on state and local highway bridge design, with additional work including commercial and industrial structures.
• Produce technical reports, design documents, and support client communication.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
