Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to join a Palmdale, CA team. You will analyze metals, composites and non-metallic structures, support MRB stress analyses, and drive design solutions for production aircraft programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 5+ years of experience for Principal level.
• Master's in STEM with 3 years of experience for Principal level.
• Active in-scope US Government Secret Clearance or ability to obtain clearance.
• Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis for airframe structures.
• Experience with large Finite Element Models and structural analysis methods.
• Proficiency with NX CAD, Femap, and NASTRAN/PATRAN workflow.

Responsibilities

• Provide stress MRB dispositions for primary and secondary structure.
• Review analyses, drawings and repairs for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with disciplines to develop design solutions.
• Present structural issues and solutions to management and customer reps.
• Maintain and improve part designs, equipment and systems for production deliveries.
• Develop robust, practical solutions aligned with program objectives.
• Evaluate as-built products for conformity to standards and procedures.
