Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems is seeking an engineer to perform structural analysis for aircraft primary and secondary structures in a fast-paced development environment. You will analyze, research, and develop structural specifications for metals, non-metals, and composites in product design, focusing on damage tolerance and durability of airframe structures.
The role requires experience with bonded and metallic analyses, hand-sheet methods, and large Finite Element Models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 2+ years aerospace structural design experience, or MS with 0 years
- Experience in bonded composite structural analysis of aircraft structures
- Experience in metallic structural analysis of aircraft structures
- Proficiency in structural analysis methods and documentation
- Familiarity with PATRAN or FEMAP
- Ability to obtain and maintain active Secret or higher clearance (SAP clearance eligibility)
Responsibilities
- Perform stress analysis for primary and secondary structures.
- Review analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with other disciplines during design development.
- Present and explain structural issues to management and customers.
- Maintain and improve part designs and systems to support production deliveries.
- Develop solutions aligning with program objectives.
- Evaluate as-built products for compliance with standards.
