Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems in California is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to support a high-paced development program. The role focuses on structural modification stress analysis, certified design, and manufacturing engineering for airframes using metal, composite, and non-metallic materials.

The candidate will analyze damage tolerance, durability, and random vibration, employing PATRAN, FEMAP, Patran, and Nastran tools. A Secret clearance is required, with SAP access possible.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in engineering with aerospace/ mechanical/ civil focus; relevant experience required.
• Experience in structural analysis of aircraft structures and materials.
• Knowledge of random vibration analysis and FE modeling.

Responsibilities

• Provide stress analysis for primary and secondary structures.
• Review analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to develop design solutions.
• Present structural issues/solutions to management and customers.
• Maintain and improve designs for production deliveries.
• Develop thorough, practical analysis in line with program objectives.
