Job summary

ABB Inc. seeks a Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer to develop technical and commercial proposals for focused industry segments, including data centers and critical manufacturing facilities.

You will work with SAMs to drive inquiry-to-order with emphasis on high-probability, high-profitability projects and deep ABB portfolio knowledge. This remote role, based in the United States, reports to the Sales Support Manager and requires strong collaboration, risk assessment, and travel up to 2–3 times

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical distribution or related industry; minimum 5 years in sales and project quotations.
• Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio and configuration tools (ABB Empower).
• Experience with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large-scale projects with multiple work packages.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SAMs and strategic customers to understand CTQ factors critical for growth.
• Lead deal strategy and pricing discussions with internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to development of innovative solutions leveraging ABB portfolio; suggest alternatives to reduce costs and increase profitability.
• Assess project risks (financial, commercial, technical) and coordinate with leadership and risk manager as needed.
