Job summary

Cheniere Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior Specialist, Buyer to lead end-to-end purchasing for materials, equipment, services, and supplies supporting operations and projects in Houston.

You will drive supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure timely, compliant procurement aligned with business needs. This role collaborates with SCM, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Capital Projects and Finance to optimize inventory and cost, while meeting safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of purchasing experience, preferably within LNG or Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience with inventory and material planning, strategic sourcing, bid evaluations and supplier performance management.
• Knowledge of contract administration and commercial negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end purchasing-to-pay (P2P) process from requisition through purchase order issuance, delivery, payment and close out.
• Establish contracts and blanket purchase agreements as appropriate.
• Identify suppliers to secure quality materials at best overall cost for the business.
• Coordinate and expedite delivery dates for materials as needed.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
• Prepare and issue RFOs/RFPs, evaluate bids and analyze cost versus budgets.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure project deliverables, interface with operations, engineering & construction, legal, finance, health, safety and environment, and suppliers.
• Monitor POs to ensure timely delivery and develop recovery plans for delays.
