Job summary

CTERA is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to support enterprise storage and cloud solutions. You will articulate technical value, design solutions, and assist customers across CA, CO, AZ, and UT with hands-on demonstrations and POCs.

The role requires travel up to 50% and deep knowledge of NAS, file systems, object storage, and virtualization. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential for success in this fast-growing data fabric company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Sales Engineer in storage/cloud industries
• Strong presentation and technical analysis skills
• Up to 50% travel with some overnight stays
• Storage experience – NAS, file systems, object storage; protocols CIFS/SMB, NFS
• Cloud or virtualization experience – 2+ years in VMware or AWS/Azure
• Networking knowledge – TCP/IP, HTTP/TLS, DNS, LDAP, SAML v2; Wireshark usage
• Operating systems – Windows and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
• Experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms
• Ability to edit guides, sales presentations, and network diagrams

Responsibilities

• Provide product, service, or equipment technical information by answering questions
• Provide technical sales support throughout the sales cycle, including RFI/RFP responses
• Establish and maintain relationships with customers and partners
• Resolve complex issues using professional concepts and company objectives
• Deliver technical presentations to explain products and services
• Collaborate with sales to understand customer requirements
• Conduct POCs with defined SOW and success criteria
• Transfer knowledge via demos and hands-on training
• Collect product feedback for Product Management
• Submit orders with technical support coordination
