Job summary

CTERA is seeking a Solutions Engineer for the Western US to bridge storage and cloud deployments with enterprise clients. You will present technical solutions, support the full sales cycle, and collaborate with partners to design robust systems involving NAS, object storage, and virtualization technologies.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in sales engineering for storage/cloud, strong technical communication, and willingness to travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Sales Engineer in storage and/or cloud industries.
• Strong presentation and technical analysis skills.
• Up to 50% travel with some overnight stays.
• Storage experience including NAS, file systems, object storage; protocols CIFS/SMB, NFS.
• Cloud or virtualization experience with VMware, AWS or Azure certifications.
• Networking and firewall knowledge; TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, DNS, LDAP, SAML v2; Wireshark usage.
• Windows Desktop/Server and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) experience.
• Experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms.
• Documentation to edit guides, network diagrams, and asset management.

Responsibilities

• Provide product, service, or equipment technical information by answering questions and requests.
• Provide technical sales support throughout the sales cycle, including RFI/RFP responses and solution design.
• Establish and maintain relationships with customers and partners.
• Resolve complex issues using professional concepts and company objectives.
• Deliver technical presentations to customers and prospective clients.
• Collaborate with sales to understand customer requirements and provide technical-sales support.
• Conduct POCs with clear SOW and success criteria.
• Transfer knowledge via demos and hands-on training sessions.
• Document product feedback for enhancements (RFEs).
• Submit orders in coordination with technical support.
