Job summary

Performance Review Institute (PRI) seeks a Principal Engineer to provide technical and engineering management expertise for standards and technical report development. You will facilitate working groups, prepare proposals, and coordinate cross-functional activities across SAE ITC and PRI initiatives.

You will support planning, meetings, and marketing of standards programs, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement while handling confidential information and complex projects globally.

Qualifications

• 6 years' experience in automotive or automated vehicle engineering, project management, project engineering, or technical management roles.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, science, or business management.
• Technical/engineering expertise with experience in standards use, development, or auditing (automotive preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills along with excellent analytical, writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to organize effectively, carry out independent action, work on simultaneous assignments, and perform confidential functions.
• Strong project management skills.
• Global and cultural sensitivities.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of trade association operations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates and manages working groups and user forums developing industry guidance, standards and technical reports.
• Develop proposals for statements of work for new and revised standards & technical reports.
• Support projects, plan to accomplish goals, and coordinate with related industry groups.
• Provide technical oversight reports, review/update reports, and ensure timely release of documents.
• Coordinate agendas, minutes, and communications for committee activities.
• Plan and conduct technical meetings, prepare materials, and present results for industry coordination.
