Job summary

Performance Review Institute (PRI) in the United States seeks a Principal Engineer to provide technical and engineering management expertise for standards and technical report development, and to lead working groups advancing industry guidance.

You will facilitate meetings, develop proposals for statements of work, coordinate with subcommittees, and ensure timely release of documents while upholding confidentiality and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 6 years' experience in automotive or automated vehicle engineering, project management, or technical management.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, science, or business management.
• Technical/engineering expertise with experience in the areas of responsibility for technical standards use, development, or auditing (automated or automotive industry use preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills along with excellent analytical, writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to organize effectively, carry out independent action, work on simultaneous assignments, and perform functions of a confidential manner.
• Strong project management skills.
• Global and cultural sensitivities.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of trade association operations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and influence task groups to achieve industry outcomes.
• Develop proposals for statements of work for standards and technical reports.
• Support projects and plans; facilitate integration of technical activities.
• Develop industry guidance, standards and reports, coordinating with comments and related groups.
• Provide technical oversight reports and ensure timely release of documents.
• Support subcommittees and working groups—write agendas/minutes and coordinate meetings.
• Plan and conduct technical meetings; prepare materials and reports for industry coordination.
• Support technical sessions at conferences and assist with marketing materials.
• Execute tasks to support leadership committees; identify process improvements.
• Support strategic plan alignment with deadlines and milestones.
