Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a technical architect to build an AI-driven Legal platform that replaces high-volume, templated legal work with scalable automated workflows. You will design and ship an end-to-end agentic system for institutional client agreements, with governance and observability across multiple AI agents.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Proven experience getting LLM-based applications to production.
• Multi-agent orchestration experience in production environments.
• Excellent ability to communicate with non-technical domain experts.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable platforms.
• Ability to design primitives, reusability, and governance for a platform.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build Legal AI infrastructure, shipping agents and automated workflows.
• Own the institutional client agreement automation system end-to-end.
• Build a cohesive agent platform with governance and observability.
• Partner with Legal leadership to translate workflows into engineered solutions.
• Evaluate and retire third-party legal tech in favor of internal solutions.
• Serve as a pilot for engineering in non-technical organizational units.
