Job summary
Coinbase is seeking a founding engineer within the Legal organization to identify high-value automation opportunities, prototype solutions on Coinbase's AI platform, and drive measurable adoption of AI tooling across Legal. You will be the connective tissue between Legal stakeholders and engineering teams, translating workflows into engineering requirements.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering in production systems.
- Hands-on with deploying LLM-based apps and guardrails.
- Ability to embed with non-technical domain experts.
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle and regulatory workflows.
- Open to learning; not required to be an attorney.
- Experience with multi-agent orchestration.
- Experience in legal-tech or RegTech contexts.
Responsibilities
- Embed with Legal leadership to surface automation opportunities.
- Prototype using Coinbase's AI platform as baseline.
- Own the Legal automation roadmap with executive stakeholders.
- Define build-vs-buy strategy for Legal tooling.
- Ensure automated outputs are traceable with auditability and human-in-the-loop.
- Drive adoption through brown-bags and walkthroughs.
