Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer (IC5) to lead the design and delivery of shared, multi-tenant platform services on Kubernetes. You will own availability, scalability, and operability while hands-on coding and mentoring engineers across the Data Platform Engineering team.

You will drive architecture decisions, collaborate with product teams to set SLOs, and ensure robust disaster recovery and cross-region resilience across a large global fleet.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software development with a Bachelor's degree, or 8+ with a Master’s, or 5+ with a PhD.
• 8+ years building production software with distributed systems.
• Led design/delivery of shared, multi-tenant infrastructure services such as DB, message queue or cache.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of shared platform services on Kubernetes across a global fleet.
• Define HA, failover, DR, and multi-region architecture with automation.
• Partner with engineers to align architecture and SLOs for shared services.
• Hands-on involvement designing, coding, and reviewing core systems.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers to raise engineering standards.
