Saab AB in the United States is seeking a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer to lead cross-functional manufacturing initiatives from concept to production, with a focus on safety, quality, cost, and continuous improvement. You will drive process development, equipment validation, and optimization across complex programs, partnering with stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.

The role requires strong technical communication, data analysis, and project leadership, with extensive experience

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a master’s; or a PhD with 3 years, or equivalent.
• Strong experience in manufacturing process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead complex engineering projects from concept through implementation and production.
• Proficiency with engineering documentation, data analysis, and standard manufacturing tools.
• Strong technical communication, presentation, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and Excel/data-analysis proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions and align stakeholders with differing priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop manufacturing solutions.
• Develop and improve manufacturing standards, procedures, and work instructions.
• Develop testing and validation methods for new or modified processes.
• Track project performance, identify risks, and coordinate actions to stay on plan.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and other problem-solving methods.
• Lead equipment selection, installation, qualification, and process validation.
• Drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, capacity, cost, and OEE.
• Translate technical issues into business impacts and actionable decisions.
• Communicate project status and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
• Adapt communication styles to engineers, operators, and executives.
• Ensure deliverables meet established timelines and requirements.
