Job summary

Saab AB in the United States seeks a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical leadership in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems. You will lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to production, focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex challenges, develop standards, perform validation, and drive improvements that align with business objectives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a master’s; or PhD with 3 years’ experience.
• Strong experience in manufacturing process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects from concept through implementation and production.
• Proficiency with engineering documentation, data analysis, and standard manufacturing engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions and drive alignment among stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify needs and develop manufacturing solutions.
• Develop and improve manufacturing standards, procedures, and work instructions.
• Develop testing, validation, and evaluation methods for new or modified processes.
• Track project performance, identify risks, and coordinate actions to meet objectives.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
• Lead equipment selection, specification, installation, qualification, and process validation.
• Develop and optimize processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and OEE.
• Lead projects from concept through implementation, validation, and production launch.
• Translate technical issues into business impacts, risks, and opportunities.
• Evaluate processes to identify opportunities for improvement in cost and efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and SME for manufacturing processes and projects.
• Use data and metrics to drive fact-based decisions and continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement new technologies and best practices.
• Communicate status, risks, and results to leadership and stakeholders.
• Adapt communication style to engineers, operators, management, and executives.
• Take accountability for deliverables within timelines and requirements.
