Saab AB in the United States is seeking a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical leadership in developing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex production challenges, drive improvements, and translate engineering findings into actionable business

Qualifications

• 8+ years with a Bachelor’s or 6 years with a Master’s; or PhD with 3+ years.
• Strong experience in manufacturing process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead complex engineering projects from concept through implementation and production.
• Proficiency with engineering documentation, data analysis, and standard manufacturing tools.
• Excellent technical communication, presentation, and cross-functional influence.
• Independence to determine engineering methods and evaluation criteria for complex tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional discussions to align priorities and requirements.
• Collaborate to identify business needs and develop manufacturing solutions
• Develop and improve manufacturing standards, procedures, work instructions, and practices.
• Create testing/validation methods for new or modified processes.
• Track project performance, manage risks, and ensure milestones are met.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and structured problem solving.
• Lead equipment selection, installation, qualification, and validation.
• Optimize processes for safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Drive manufacturing projects from concept to production launch.
• Translate technical issues into clear business impacts and actions.
• Evaluate processes using data to find efficiency and cost improvements.
• Provide technical leadership for manufacturing processes and projects.
• Use performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement new technologies and best practices.
• Communicate status, risks, and results to leadership.
