Job summary

Saab AB seeks a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical leadership in developing and implementing manufacturing processes and systems. You will lead cross-functional initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex production challenges, drive process optimization, and ensure scalable manufacturing solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a master’s; or a PhD with 3 years.
• Strong experience in manufacturing process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead complex engineering projects from concept through implementation and production.
• Proficiency with engineering documentation, data analysis, and standard manufacturing engineering tools.
• Strong technical communication, presentation, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
• Independently determine engineering methods, procedures, and evaluation criteria for complex assignments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions and drive alignment among stakeholders with differing priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop manufacturing solutions.
• Develop and improve manufacturing standards, procedures, and work instructions.
• Create testing, validation, and evaluation methods for new/modified processes.
• Track project performance, identify risks, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and other problem-solving methodologies.
• Lead equipment selection, installation, qualification, and validation activities.
• Develop and optimize processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and OEE.
• Lead projects from concept to production launch and validation.
• Translate technical issues into clear business impacts, risks, opportunities.
