Saab AB in the United States seeks a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer to lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through production, focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and reliability. You will drive improvements by translating complex issues into clear business impacts and champion new manufacturing technologies.

The role requires 8+ years of experience with manufacturing process development, strong data-analysis skills, and a proven ability to lead large engineering

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a master’s; or a PhD with 3 years; or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience in manufacturing process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead complex engineering projects from concept through implementation and production.
• Proficiency with engineering documentation, data analysis, and standard manufacturing engineering tools.
• Strong technical communication, presentation, influencing and interpersonal skills.
• Independently determine appropriate engineering methods, procedures, and evaluation criteria for complex assignments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions and drive alignment among stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions.
• Develop and improve manufacturing standards, procedures, and work instructions.
• Develop testing, validation, and evaluation methods for new or modified processes.
• Track project performance, identify risks, and coordinate actions to stay on schedule.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and other structured problem-solving methods.
• Lead equipment selection, installation, qualification, and process validation.
• Develop and optimize processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and OEE.
• Lead projects from concept through implementation and production launch.
• Translate technical issues into business risks, opportunities, and decisions.
• Evaluate processes and data to identify opportunities for improvements.
• Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise in manufacturing.
