Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff FPGA Engineer to drive FPGA design, verification, and deployment for satellite and aerospace hardware. You will lead cross-functional teams across system engineering, hardware, and software to define architectures, interfaces, and clocking schemes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• 12 years of design, analysis, and implementation experience for FPGA systems at HDL level.
• Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog.
• Familiarity with radiation-tolerant FPGA devices (Versal, UltraScale+, RFSoC, PolarFire).
• Expertise in synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and verification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPGA design and verification efforts for space-based programs.
• Collaborate with system engineering, hardware, and software teams to define architecture and interfaces.
• Develop FPGA architectures from system requirements to vendor-ready parts and SWAP-C estimates.
• Present design reviews to customers and executives; contribute to proposals.
