Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the Core Automation team to architect and build Agentic AI systems that enhance customer support and compliance at scale.

You will own the technical vision, design reusable primitives and orchestration tools, and partner with product, compliance, and operations to deliver reliable, production-ready AI platforms. Qualifications

• 12+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Deep proficiency in Golang or similar systems languages.
• Proven track record shipping LLM-based/Agentic AI applications to production.
• Experience architecting distributed systems at massive scale.
• Experience partnering with compliance, operations, and other stakeholders.
• Mentoring senior engineers and guiding technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Own design and implementation of Agentic AI systems powering Coinbase's customer support and compliance automation
• Architect a reusable platform of primitives, orchestration tools, and interfaces for other teams
• Drive cross-functional alignment with product, compliance, and operations to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
• Lead technical strategy for getting LLM-based applications from prototype to production, including grounding and reliability at scale
• Mentor engineers across the team on system design and AI/ML best practices
