Job description

Pay Rate : $70,000-80,000 / year to start

We manage a diverse portfolio of residential properties, ensuring they are well-maintained and safe for all residents. As we expand our reach, we are seeking talented individuals to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities :

As a Staff Accountant at SPM, you will be responsible for :

Financial Management & Accounting Operations :

  • Manage the full-cycle accounting for 600-800 residential units, including bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Administer and maintain the accounting software system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial data entry.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and related documentation to support business decision-making.
  • Conduct monthly bank and account reconciliations to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial records.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Support tax preparation and compliance efforts to ensure timely and accurate filing.
  • Supervise a team of 1-2 bookkeepers to ensure accurate and efficient accounting operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to promote collaboration and resolve issues.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and provide training to ensure all staff are well-prepared for their roles.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.

Financial Planning and Compliance :

  • Manage cash flow and treasury activities to support the company's financial stability.
  • Participate in budget preparation, variance analysis, and forecasting to support financial planning and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role, you should have :

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
  • CPA or CPA track preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Hindi speaking a bonus but not necessary (Bookkeeping Team is India Based)
