Senior Staff Accountant (acts as senior and supervisor)
- Build and develop skills that interpret and communicate financial and operational information effectively.
- Conduct technical and efficiency reviews of junior staff work.
- Train and lead staff on new initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients.
- Create video overviews of client deliverables to add value.
- Use judgment to proactively solve issues as they arise.

- Seek additional supervisory responsibilities and growth opportunities.
- Perform full charge bookkeeping efficiently and accurately.
Full Charge Bookkeeping Skills:
- Prepare timely, complete, and accurate month-end financial reports.
- Reconcile bank and credit card feeds, code transactions, and maintain the general ledger.
- Maintain subsidiary records for fixed assets, loans, and other accounts.
- Analyze and reconcile accounts as needed.
- Book payroll, sales, inventory, and month-end adjusting journal entries.
- Prepare and review financial statements before delivery.
- Handle payroll processing, tax deposits, and related filings.
- Manage garnishments, support orders, and IRS documentation.
- Verify and adjust employee vacation, sick, and PTO accruals.
- Manage accounts payable, including bill entry, payments, and disputes.
- Prepare sales tax returns and related filings.
- Prepare and file annual Personal Property tax returns.
- Correspond with IRS and state agencies regarding payroll and sales tax.
- Act as main client contact for transactional work and queries.
- Engage with clients via email and video, addressing questions and concerns.
- Represent the company professionally in all interactions.
- Manage 15-25 client accounts, each averaging $1M in revenue.
Attributes:
- 4+ years of public accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of debits and credits.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Experience working in a virtual environment.
- Dedicated, secure, and quiet home workspace for video calls.
- Reliable internet connection.
- Ability to meet deadlines and multitask across multiple clients.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive in client communication and problem-solving.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Zoom, Xero, QuickBooks, Dropbox, Payroll Relief, Practice Ignition, Fathom; ability to learn new platforms quickly.
- Note: We are a Xero-focused firm that rarely uses QuickBooks.
