Job summary

Peraton seeks a self-driven Site Reliability Engineer to join our Network and UC engineers in Washington, DC. This role blends software engineering with systems administration to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical apps and infrastructure.

You will drive automation, observability, and incident response while supporting cloud and hybrid environments. A TS/SCI clearance and 7+ years in related fields are required.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field with 8+ years of experience; 4 additional years can waive degree.
• Minimum 7+ years in software engineering, DevOps, or operations.
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure or equivalent).
• CISSP or CASP+ credentials.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliant.
• Strong Linux administration experience.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies and automation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation for infrastructure and application management.
• Modernize infrastructure with automation and refresh initiatives.
• Develop and maintain monitoring and observability platforms.
• Define and manage SLOs and SLIs.
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code and configuration management solutions.
• Optimize system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with software, operations, and security teams.
• Support cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
