Job summary

Tandem Diabetes Care seeks an experienced Principal Site Reliability Engineer to lead production support, incident response, and the evolution of SRE practices. You will own on-call design, runbooks, and automation across Terraform/IaC, CI/CD, and disaster recovery, partnering with offshore teams to raise capability and reliability across the platform.

Strong expertise in SRE principles, Terraform, CI/CD tooling, and cloud platforms is essential, as is a proven track record driving observability

Qualifications

Proven experience leading production support and incident management for production systems.
Strong grounding in SRE principles: SLIs/SLOs, postmortems, toil reduction.
Experience owning on-call strategy, including rotation design and alert tuning.
Hands-on experience with Terraform or comparable IaC at scale.
Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with reliability guardrails.
Deep experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiarity with observability tooling to drive SLO-based alerting.
Experience designing and testing disaster recovery plans.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day production support, incident response, and on-call management.
Define and own SLIs/SLOs and drive monitoring and alerting.
Implement and maintain infrastructure automation and CI/CD reliability guardrails.
Coordinate disaster recovery readiness, backup/restore testing, and RTO/RPO adherence.
Collaborate with Security, Quality, and Compliance teams on regulatory posture.
