Job summary

Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc. seeks a Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for a fully remote role within the United States. You will lead production support, incident response, and automation to improve reliability and observability.

This role partners with Security, QA, and Architecture to embed reliability in the development lifecycle. Required expertise includes Terraform, CI/CD, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and experience with Docker/Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, and incident

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading production support and incident management.
• Strong SRE fundamentals: SLIs/SLOs, blameless postmortems, toil reduction.
• Own on-call strategy: rotation design, alert tuning, escalation.
• Hands-on with Terraform at scale and policy-as-code guardrails.
• Build CI/CD reliability guardrails using GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, or Azure DevOps.
• Deep cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of observability tooling to drive SLO-based alerting.
• Experience with FDA/ISO-regulated industries and agile methods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead production support and end-to-end incident management.
• Establish and maintain on-call strategy and alert tuning.
• Develop runbooks and standardize response across teams.
• Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs to guide reliability priorities.
• Design and test disaster recovery, backups, and failover plans.
• Collaborate on capacity planning, cost awareness, and resilience testing.
