Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer in Cambridge, MA to lead SRE initiatives. You will mentor teams, partner with Engineering, Operations and Product, and apply statistical data analysis to improve performance and reliability across our platform and products.

Requirements include 8+ years in computer science, a Bachelor's degree, strong analytical skills, and experience coding in Python, Perl, SQL, Java, C or R, plus knowledge of DNS/HTTP/TLS/TCP.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science.
• Analytical background with experience in statistical data analysis.
• Experience with coding in Python, Perl, SQL, Java, C, or R.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to articulate technical information clearly.
• Experience with Internet protocols (DNS/HTTP/TLS/TCP).

Responsibilities

• Leading SRE teams by providing technical mentorship, feedback and guidelines, and organizing project-specific work.
• Driving partnership with Engineering, Operations and Product teams to guide adoption of new features and processes.
• Applying analytical skills and statistical insights to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability challenges, and propose solutions.
• Defining, implementing, mining data feeds from 3rd party and internal sources to produce insights for decision-making.
• Influencing company decisions to identify areas for new technology investments.
• Building software tools and systems to automate analytical tasks and workflows to increase efficiency and reliability.
