Job summary

Iru is seeking a Senior SRE to own incident management and drive reliability across services. You will partner with Infrastructure and engineering to reduce MTTD and MTTR and to make reliability measurable and team-owned.

You will establish organization-wide observability standards in Datadog, define SLOs/SLIs, build reusable dashboards, and mentor teams on production readiness and blameless postmortems. This role blends reliability engineering with cross-team enablement and requires strong

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE/production engineering with on-call responsibility for customer-facing systems.
• Incidents: proven experience running or improving incident response in a distributed environment.
• Observability with Datadog: dashboards, monitors, instrumentation standards.
• SLI/SLO programs: experience defining SLOs/SLIs and error budgets.
• Systems: Linux, networking, distributed systems, cloud/hybrid (Kubernetes, load balancers, databases).
• Automation: Go, Python, or similar; IaC (Terraform).
• Communication: clear written and verbal; postmortems.
• Collaboration: influencing without authority across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident lifecycle: detection, triage, communication, mitigation, resolution, post-incident review.
• Define severity models, escalation paths, on-call expectations, runbooks.
• Facilitate blameless postmortems and drive remediations.
• Improve coordination during major incidents: roles, tooling, stakeholder updates.
• Partner with security, support, product on incident communications and obligations.
• Establish standards for metrics/logs/traces in Datadog; drive SLO/SLI adoption.
• Build reusable Datadog dashboards, monitors, and alert patterns.
• Champion golden signals and RED/USE alerting; align with user impact.
• Mentor engineers on reliability and production readiness; contribute to capacity planning.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure on observability stack decisions and data lifecycle.
