Job summary

Iru, the AI-powered security & IT platform, seeks a Senior SRE to own incident detection, response, and learnings, driving consistent observability across services and teams. You will partner with the Infrastructure team to reduce MTTD and MTTR, making reliability measurable and team-owned.

You will define severity models, runbooks, and postmortems, build reusable Datadog dashboards, and lead SLO/SLI programs while mentoring engineers on production readiness in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE, production engineering, or equivalent with on-call responsibility.
• Proven experience improving incident response in distributed systems.
• Deep, hands-on experience with Datadog and instrumentation standards across teams.
• Experience defining SLOs/SLIs and error budgets in production.
• Strong Linux, networking, cloud/hybrid infrastructure knowledge (Kubernetes, load balancers, databases).
• Automation proficiency in Go, Python, or similar; IaC familiarity (Terraform).
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to facilitate high-pressure incidents and postmortems.
• Track record of influencing across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and refine the incident lifecycle from detection to post-incident review.
• Define severity models, escalation paths, on-call expectations, and runbooks.
• Facilitate blameless postmortems and track remediations.
• Improve coordination during major incidents and stakeholder updates.
• Partner with security, support, and product on communications and obligations.
• Establish organization-wide standards for metrics, logs, and traces in Datadog and drive SLO adoption.
