Job summary

Contact Government Services, LLC is seeking a Senior Database Administrator II to help administer all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server. The role includes managing replication, backups, performance tuning, and migrating databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016.

The candidate will support virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and Microsoft technologies such as ASP.NET and Web Services, with potential cloud exposure (AWS/Azure).

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience directly related to SQL Server Database Administration.
• Experience with SQL Server features such as Replication, Backup/Restore and performance tuning.
• Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V.
• Experience with source control, bug tracking, SDLC, and relational database integration.
• Ability to handle confidential materials and work in groups or independently on projects.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server including Replication, Backup/Restore, capacity planning, SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS.
• Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016.
• Provide systems administration support for new hardware and software.
• Recommend and implement SQL performance monitoring and tuning solutions.
• Support Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET and Web Services.
• Support virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V, creating and configuring VMs.
• Perform backups per policy, including daily incremental and weekly full backups.
• Monitor database activity, space management, and provide extended support as needed.
