Job summary

Contact Government Services is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage Microsoft SQL Server environments, including replication, backups, and performance tuning. The role involves migrating databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016 and supporting related Microsoft technologies.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience, ability to handle multiple tasks, and familiarity with virtualization via VMware and Hyper-V.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant SQL Server Database Administration experience.
• Experience with migrating databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016.
• Ability to document, explain, and present tasks and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server including Replication, Backup/Restore, Capacity Planning, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services.
• Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016.
• Provide systems administration support for hardware and software.
• Recommend and implement SQL performance monitoring and tuning.
• Implement, deploy, and support Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and Web Services.
• Support VMware and Hyper-V virtualization, creating and configuring virtual machines.
• Perform backups of web, application, and database servers per MPA policies; daily increments and weekly full backups.
• Monitor, manage space, and support databases, with extended hours as needed.
