Job summary

Contact Government Services, LLC is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server, including backup/restore, replication, and performance tuning. The role requires strong problem solving and the ability to manage multiple databases in demanding environments.

Responsibilities include migrating databases, supporting virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), and coordinating with IT teams on infrastructure changes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience related directly to SQL Server Database Administration.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• Familiarity with SDLC, source control, bug tracking, and integration of relational databases.
• Ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive materials; good documentation and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server including Replication, Backup/Restore, capacity planning, SSRS/SSAS/SSIS.
• Migrate databases from older SQL Server versions to newer ones.
• Provide system administration support for hardware and software deployments.
• Recommend and implement SQL performance monitoring and tuning solutions.
• Support Microsoft technologies and visualize virtualization infrastructure (VMware/Hyper‑V).
• Perform regular backups following policies and provide extended support when required.
• Monitor databases, manage space, and assist across projects.
