Job summary

Contact Government Services, LLC is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage SQL Server environments, including replication, backups, and performance tuning. This role sits in the Information Technology department and requires strong experience with SQL Server and virtualization technologies.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of SQL Server experience, the ability to handle multiple assignments, and familiarity with cloud services (AWS/Azure).

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years direct experience with SQL Server Database Administration.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
• Experience with VMware and Hyper‑V virtualization.
• Familiarity with source control, bug tracking, SDLC, and relational databases.
• Comfort handling confidential materials and working in teams or solo.

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server including replication, backups, capacity planning, SSRS/SSAS/SSIS.
• Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016.
• Provide systems administration support for hardware/software installations and configurations.
• Recommend and implement SQL performance monitoring and tuning solutions.
• Implement and support Microsoft technologies (Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Web Services).
• Support VMware/Hyper‑V virtualization and create/configure virtual machines.
• Back up web, app, and database servers per MPA policies, including daily increments and weekly full backups.
• Monitor databases, manage space, and provide extended hours of support as needed.
